MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have placed right-hander Jake Odorizzi on the 10-day injured list to start the season.

Odorizzi has mild soreness in his upper back. The Twins play the Chicago White Sox to start their 2020 schedule on Friday. José Berríos, Rich Hill, Kenta Maeda and Homer Bailey will comprise the initial rotation. Odorizzi is eligible to return to the active roster on July 30.

Center fielder Byron Buxton was included on the 30-man opening day roster. He suffered a left mid-foot sprain on July 13 and is expected to join the team in Chicago.
