The Minnesota Vikings have placed four players on the league's new COVID-19 reserve list. All of the players are rookies and include their first round pick Justin Jefferson, 6th round pick Blake Brandel, seventh round pick Brian Cole, and undrafted free agent Tyler Higby. They were placed on the list because they have either tested positive or have been in close contact with a COVID-19 case.

The Vikings also announced on Monday that trainer Eric Sugarman tested positive for COVID-19. According to the Star Tribune, Sugarman had not had any contact with players. Nobody else in the Viking's front office has tested positive for COVID-19. Sugarman will self isolate and do what he can remotely to help the team. So far he and his wife and two children are doing fine with mild symptoms.

Veteran players are still reporting to training camp today, Tuesday July 28th. Over the next four days players will take three coronavirus tests before physicals on Saturday.

If a player does test positive for COVID-19, they need to quarantine away from the team for 10 consecutive days. Under the Vikings Infectious Disease Emergency Plan, they need to be symptom free for three consecutive days before they can return.

The NFL recently has cancelled the preseason games. They hope to have a regular season start. The Vikings are set to kick off their season versus the rival Green Bay Packers on September 13.
