Following state guidelines, the Western Lake Superior Sanitary District will begin to reopen parts of its operation - specifically in regards to solid waste.  The phased roll out will start on Thursday, April 30 at the yard waste compost site at 27th Avenue West, off the freeway on the waterfront.

To comply with state regulations, WLSSD will ask customers to practice social distancing, limit their visits, and wear a face covering.  Following these guidelines will allow for the health and safety of everyone - staff and the general public.

Meanwhile, news sources are reporting that the Materials and Recovery Center at Rice Lake and Ridgeview Roads will open on Tuesday, May 5; the Household Hazardous Waste Facility - also at 27th Avenue West and the waterfront - will open on Thursday, May 7.
